Diploma in Urdu Journalism


Urdu journalism is the demanding course for journalists of print and electronic media of Urdu. Door Darshan Kendra Srinager, Radio Kashmir, News18 Urdu etc. are always in need of professional and trained journalists. Similarly Srinager is the major house of Urdu newspaper in India where around 135 daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly newspapers and magazines are published. Hence this course can meet the market requirements.


This Directorate has made many efforts to launch job oriented coursed from time to time with a view to harmonize with the changing scenario of higher education in country in general and the UT of Jammu & Kashmir in particular. In this connection, after various efforts, this Directorate has been able to offer Post Graduate Diploma in Urdu Journalism for those aspirants who want to make their career in Urdu journalism as the scope of Urdu Journalism is vast in this state as nearly 135 daily, weekly and fortnightly Urdu newspapers are publishing on this date. Objectives 1. To create employability environment for students of Urdu language and literature. 2. To provide platform for aspiring students of Urdu for professional development 3. To make efforts for professional enrichment of working Urdu journalists 4. To meet the requirement of various organizations working in Urdu language.
