Seminar Objectives
The National Seminar on Sustainable Tourism and Rural Development: Bridging Gaps for a Better Tomorrow, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among researchers, policymakers, stakeholders, and academics.
The seminar will explore innovative strategies for leveraging rural tourism as a catalyst for sustainable development in India, with a particular focus on Jammu and Kashmir. This seminar will emphasize the role of rural tourism in driving economic growth and generating employment, promoting inclusivity, and encouraging active participation from local communities. It will also highlight how tourism can enhance the quality of life for rural populations across India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir while aligning tourism development with long-term socio-economic, environmental, and cultural goals.
By engaging with cutting-edge research, policy recommendations, and emerging trends, the seminar seeks to contribute to the development of a strategic roadmap for a resilient and sustainable rural tourism sector, in line with Vision Viksit Bharat @2047 India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Call for Papers
Participants are invited to submit research papers, case studies, and conceptual papers related to the seminar themes and subthemes. Selected submissions will be considered for inclusion in an edited volume.
Paper Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit a 200-300 word abstract summarizing their research, including its purpose, methodology, key findings, and practical implications. It should clearly outline the study's objectives, significance, methods, results, and real-world applications or contributions to the field.
